Five for Friday!

Hi everyone, it's been such a long time since I have linked up for Five for Friday!
My friend Wendy found tiny solo cups at the 99 cent store and sent me pictures and I just had to share these with you.  Look at how tiny they are!!  I've used the big solo cups for my students to build a 100th day tower, but I think switching to these small ones would be awesome too.
The weather has been really nice in Vegas, so we have been going to the Red Rock Canyon just about every single week. It's been really fun going on different trails each time.

Little did I know that the 'La Madre Spring Trail' was all uphill...I had to take a lot of little breaks but when we finally got up there I had to spell out our name to take a picture to remind me to never come back to this trail again, JK.  It was worth it and I will definitely go on this trail again.:)
Last week we went hiking on the Calico Tanks trail and it was a bit more complicated for me...I'm pretty much afraid of heights, but my husband encouraged me to try and finish it.  All I can remember is him telling me 'be the rock,' as I climbed and tried really hard not to look down.  Seriously, the things my husband tells me, lol.  Anyhoo, I'm so glad that he did push me to continue because at the end of the trail we saw nothing but water!  It looked amazing!!  I'm hoping that we can continue doing this every week.:)
I found this huge panda at Hallmark.  When I saw it, it reminded me of the Valentine craft that I made.  So cute, I really wanted it but I had to get back to reality...where would I put it.  It's huge!:)
You might think, why is she posting a picture of her planting some seeds...well I've been inspired to try to grow a little garden.  I bought a basil plant about a month ago and it's still alive!  If you know me, plants do not seem to last.  But for some reason my basil plant has lasted this long and I really want to grow cilantro!  So I'm going to try out this Salsa Garden kit that I found at Target and I hope that the seeds grow.  Wish me luck!

I've been working on a St. Patrick's Day hat template and so far they have turned out looking pretty cute!  I'm so happy that they are done and ready for March.
I have created not only one, but seven different templates.  What can I say I like to have different options for the kids to pick.  I have posted it to my TpT store.
I don't know about you but I just love it when March comes around and the kids gets to make leprechaun traps.  For a whole week my students setup their traps in our classroom to try to catch him.  Every single day the leprechaun would leave us different surprises and one of them would be lucky pennies.  They get so excited when he leaves tiny notes and treats.  So to end this blog post, I am sharing these with you.  Click on the picture to download the file.

Happy Friday!:)

Rainy Day Duckling Craft

Hi Everyone!  So I'm here to share one of the crafts that I have been working on.  Right after I finished making the Valentine crafts, I couldn't help but want to make some more.  I don't know why but I jumped right into thinking of all the crafts I could make for Spring.
Two crafts came in mind but today I am sharing one of them.  I've been working on a cute duckling and this is what I made.
Here's are before and after pictures.  As you can see the left one is a pic of a text...of course I had to ask a friend or two about what they thought about the pattern and I quickly sent them a text for some feedback. Can you see my dog up in the corner of the text.;)

I changed a few things here and there until I used my colored card stock.  The boots definitely changed from having a little heel to no heel, lol.
Then I thought 'Yeay, I'm almost done' and I saw my polka dotted scrapbook paper and it shouted, 'Use me for the rain boots!'

Then there came the title...wasn't sure what I wanted to call it exactly, I went from 'April Showers Duckling' to 'Spring Showers Duckling' and then finally I called it 'Rainy Day Duckling Craft.'  The endless possibilities of the titles that can be used.

This craft is now available at my TpT store.

Valentine Crafts in Action

My friend Holly who teaches first grade just sent me these pictures of her students making the Valentine crafts!  They are getting these ready for a Valentine exchange, where they will be sending these crafts and letters to another school.  How exciting!
Here is a close up of how they turned out!  From what my friend told me, many of her kiddos really liked the Panda the best.:)
Here are a few pictures of them writing their letters for their Valentine exchange!
Here are a few of the letters that they wrote!
Thank you Holly for sending me these pictures!  You're the best!:)
All three Valentine crafts have been posted at my TpT store.  Have a great day!:)

Wordless Wednesday

Hi everyone, I'm here linking up with Christina for Wordless Wednesday!  Life can get pretty busy and sometimes you just need to get away from it by going out and doing what you enjoy.  Shopping!!! Look what I found at Target!?
Have you seen these?  What would you do with them?  I was very much tempted in buying one, but told myself to walk away...I can always get it later.  I'm still thinking about all the wonderful things I could do with these furry monster bags!  Hope everyone had a great day!:)

Valentine Card Holder

So I've been thinking about Valentine's Day....as I was looking thru my Valentine crafts I found the Valentine card holder we made last year for our Valentine's Day card exchange.
Because I think elephants are so cute I really wanted to make an elephant Valentine bag and this is what I came up with.
Doesn't it scream cuteness!!

When it comes to Valentine's Day I tend to change it up every year.  We've made heart mailboxes out of construction paper, used paper plates to make a card holder and I've even sent out a letter for students to make their own Valentine mailboxes.  You name it...I've tried it.  But I feel that the one that I like the best is making our Valentine bags.  They are easy and simple and that's what I like best!
I've posted it up on my TpT store if you happen to like elephants too and it's on sale for a limited time! Happy Monday!!

Valentine's Day Crafts

Hi everyone!  So, last month I kept brainstorming about all the crafts that we could make for February.  I thought and thought about it...and do you ever get an idea just out of random...it just comes to you out of no where?  Well that's what happened, I went straight to my craft room and worked on my first Valentine craft and came up with this cute owl.  If you know me, I just love owls!

Making templates can be quite tricky but I had so much fun that once I started I couldn't stop!  That's when I began to make a frog Valentine craft.  After I was done, it made me think of my dear friend who worked with me last year...she loves frogs!  How I miss her!:)

These would have been perfect for us to make last year, if only I had thought of it back then.  As I made all these crafts...I thought 'Why not a panda?!' Pandas are cute too!
Anywhoo, I just wanted to share these crafts with you incase you're looking for a craft to make in February.  I have a friend who is planning to have her class do a Valentine Exchange with another school.  Good thing I made these just in time for her class to use for the project.  I can't wait to see how they turn out!
These crafts are now available at my TpT store if you'd like for your students to make one too!  Have a great day!:)
